St. Mary’s Soup Run Group | Serving with Love
Who We Are
Welcome to the St. Mary’s Soup Run Group—an initiative of St Mary On-the-Quay Parish in collaboration with the LOV Verbum Dei (Lectio Divina group) & CFC (Couples for Christ) Ministries, supporting the Bristol Soup Run Trust.
This group is dedicated to collecting, preparing, distributing, and serving food to the homeless and vulnerable (our ‘guests’) in central Bristol. More than just offering meals, we seek to bring dignity, hope, and companionship to those in need.
What We Do
- Prepare & Serve: Volunteers work together to prepare sandwiches, hot soup, teas, and coffees, ensuring that those in need receive a warm drink, sandwiches and a friendly presence. - Faith in Action: Rooted in our Christian call to service, we embody the love of Christ by being present, listening, and offering kindness.
Prayer & Community: While some volunteers serve on the streets, others remain at St. Mary On-the-Quay, praying for those we serve and supporting with clean-up. Every role is essential!
Be part of this Mission!
Together, as a family of faith, we can make a difference—offering warmth, love, kindness, and the presence of Christ to those in need and in whom He dwells as He said himself in Matthew 25:40 “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Get Involved!
This is a parish-wide initiative that, by the grace of God, will grow so that more people from the parish and beyond will participate and join. Anyone can help in any capacity—whether it is through preparing food, joining the distribution team, praying, or assisting with logistics.
