Our Parish Landline Phone has been updated. It is now working; you can make contact with us if you have any questions.
Changing the Time Schedule for Masses
Someone from our church complained to the diocese that there is no cleaning between Masses on Sunday, no promotion of face coverings/ sanitising. So there was a concern raised by the diocese about it.
Unfortunately, we have to combine Sunday 9:30am and 11:00am Masses together to a new Mass time at 10:30am. So that we have enough time to clean the church after 10:30am Mass. Please be aware from 20th September this coming Sunday, there will be only two Masses, one is at 10:30am,another one is at 5:15pm.
Please notice, the Church will close for cleaning after 10:30am Mass on Sunday between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. It will open again at 2:00pm.
Because of the same reasons as mentioned above, Therefore, we also have to cancel 12:15pm Mass Saturday. That means, we will have only the Vigil Mass at 6:15pm Saturday. But the church will remain open if you would like to come to light a candle and pray.
We Need Help
We need a volunteer in administrative and secretarial help in the parish office for 2 or 3 mornings or afternoons a week. If you can help or if you know anyone who can help, please let us know.
Supporting the Parish
Due to COVID-19 lockdown that affects our parish finance, we need your help to run our beautiful Parish. We now encourage our parishioners, if you use online banking and are able to set up direct debit or standing order which would be a big support for the Church, below is our Parish Bank Account details:
Account Number: 66286573
Sort Code: 52-10-03
If you would like to write a check, please make it payable to St. Mary-on-the-Quay. Our Postal Address: 20 Colston Street, Bristol BS1 5AE.
There will be no sharing of the collection Bags during the Sunday Masses due to the COVID-19. Therefore, the Parish prepared two Boxes at the back of the Church. Please put your Sunday offering into the Boxes.
Guidelines you need to follow when coming to the Church
Our Parish has adopted the1metre plusin order to maximize the capacity of our Church. This means that everyone in the Church must wear face mask.
Benches are marked for Social Distancing, please do observe these markings, it is advised that families can sit together. We have marked a few Benches for families.
Everyone must sanitizer their hands when entering and exiting the church. If you wear gloves, then you still need to apply the hand gel to your gloves.
Communion must be given silently in the hands only. And people must stand to receive it with arms at full stretch so that there is a good distance between the priest and people.
Other Parish facilities will not be opened at this stage, such as hall, and other activities.
There will be no gas lighters provided by the Church due to the risk of transmitting the Covid-19. However, the Church will provide a lighted candle in Our Lady's Chapel and The Scared Heart Chapel from which you can light a candle.
If you like, you could bring your own lighter.
Please be careful when you light a candle in order to prevent an accident which may cause a fire.
